The Bermuda Powerboat Association held its annual Around The Island Powerboat Race on August 13, 2017 in glorious sunshine and choppy seas, especially along the south shore.

Rookies dominated the winner’s circle. A Class rookie co-pilot Errin Butterfield and pilot Shaki Easton were the first across the finish line in the 54-mile race in one hour and six minutes. This win did not come without a consequence however, as the pair’s boat was damaged during their race’s journey.

Ryan Resendes and rookie co-pilot Josh Allen completed the trip in B-17 in one hour and twenty-two minutes. The pair won the B Class race.

Rookie pilot Andrew Cottingham and co-pilot Henry Talbot driving D-007 won the D Class race.
