Destination December

| Morgan |

For most, if not all of us, home is where we reside for the holidays but for some families it’s the chance to get away.  Whether you’re travel destinations are to get away from the cold and head to the beach or on the flip-side, to travel to a cold place to cuddle up – here are some fun and affordable holiday essentials you don’t want to leave home without. I added in some luxury for you too!

Trip Tip: Always check the weather before packing!

The Island:

Bahamas for Christmas

We all know the essentials for travelling to warmer places for vacation but let’s not forget that it is still winter and some evenings or afternoons may be a little cooler. For the Bahamas …

Day Time:

A wide brim hat –  Keep the sun out of your eyes all whilst keeping it chic.

H & M

A pair or two of your favourite statement sunglasses – Nothing more important on an island than a good pair of sunnies!

A reusable water bottle – I suggest a swell simply because I’m obsessed with mine but any water bottle that you can refill on the go is perfect.

A cute crossbody bag – easy to carry, fits everything and you can keep it in sight if you’re running around the city.

A silhouette swimsuit – As it may be cooler this time of year on an island a whole piece is always a great swimwear alternative to your super summery bikini.

Night Time:

A shawl or light scarf – If dinner just so happens to be outside, with your table right on the water side, throw a scarf over your shoulders and let it keep the breeze off your back.

A comfortable nude heel – nothing too high, just something to give you a lift. Plus a nude shoe matches with everything.

One evening dress – For Christmas dinner, of course! However, keep it flowy and comfortable because, after all, you are on an island.

Cabin hide-away:

The Alps

This winter everything is embellished and/or lined with fur so why not keep the trend going when you hit the slopes or spend the day outside your cabin resort.

Day Time:

A pair of suede or leather gloves – When it comes to gloves you can stick to a normal wrist length or just a bit above. I prefer my gloves a little above the wrist because I like tuck them under my jacket for extra warmth.

A fur coat –  A touch of Cruella Devile for the win! A fur jacket is warm, fun and adds a quick flare to a simple jean and white thermal ensemble.

A pom pom hat –  This accessory is just too cute! Whether you’re having a bad hair day or just want the extra warmth, a pom pom hat is super easy to throw on and GO.

Night Time:

A fur stole – (No animals were harmed in the suggestion of this accessory). A fur scarf not only keeps you warm but adds an essential touch of class to any evening ensemble.

A long evening gown – Try a plunging neckline or go a little more, subtle with a mid V neckline. Add your faux fur scarf as a shawl 😉
